This Privacy Policy explains how Worth the Story, an independent editorial project operated by Токарев Дмитрий Олегович, handles information in connection with this website and the tools we use to prepare and publish short-form video on third-party platforms. It does not describe how those platforms handle information in their own services.
1. Scope
This website is a static information site. It has no registration form, user accounts, advertising cookies, analytics, newsletter or contact database. If you email us, your email provider and the content of your message are involved in delivering and answering it.
Our publishing tools process information only when an account holder has authorized a platform connection, or when media is supplied for an authorized editorial workflow.
2. Information we process
Depending on the workflow, we may process:
- contact details and anything included in a support or privacy request;
- platform account identifiers returned by a connected platform’s official API (for example YouTube, Instagram or TikTok), together with account capability information such as available privacy options;
- authorization credentials or tokens needed to call a platform API. These are handled as secrets and are not meant to appear in public pages, source control or application logs;
- video files and related media prepared for publication;
- publication metadata such as captions, hashtags, privacy and interaction settings, upload identifiers, processing status, and error or reconciliation state;
- limited operational records needed to authenticate requests, protect the service, troubleshoot failures and prevent duplicate or unauthorized actions.
3. Why we process information
We use this information to run our editorial and media workflow, confirm that a connected account can perform a requested action, deliver a requested publication, check its status, keep the service secure, respond to support or deletion requests, and meet applicable operational or legal obligations.
4. Sharing and third-party platforms
When an authorized publication is requested, the relevant account information, media and publication settings are sent to the chosen platform through its official API. Each platform then processes that information under its own policies:
- Google Privacy Policy (YouTube);
- Instagram Privacy Policy;
- TikTok Privacy Policy applicable to your region.
We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information when necessary to protect the service, respond to a lawful request, investigate abuse or security incidents, or complete a requested operation with a service provider acting on our instructions. This website has no advertising or analytics partners.
5. Security
Access to application data is limited to operating and supporting the service. Authorization tokens are kept outside the source repository and are not intentionally written to logs or public pages. No transmission or storage system is completely secure, so please connect only accounts and content you are authorized to manage.
6. Retention and deletion
We keep information only as long as it is needed for the active workflow, security, support, legal obligations or publication-status checks. Because these needs vary, we do not set one fixed retention period. Information that is no longer needed is deleted or de-identified where reasonably possible.
To request deletion of information held by Worth the Story, email [email protected]. A deletion request does not remove information already held by a platform such as YouTube, Instagram or TikTok; please contact that platform for its own data requests.
7. Privacy requests
You may ask what information we hold about your interaction with Worth the Story, request correction or deletion, or raise a privacy concern. Give us enough context to identify the relevant workflow — and never send passwords, access tokens or other secrets by email.
8. Children
Worth the Story is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.
9. International processing
We and the platforms we publish to may process information in countries other than the one where you live. When a publication is requested, the relevant platform may process information under its own international data-transfer and privacy arrangements.
10. Policy updates
We may update this Privacy Policy when the project, its platform connections or applicable requirements change. The “Last updated” date above identifies the current version.
